Biography
Brendan Benson (born November 14, 1970, in Royal Oak, Michigan) is an American musician and songwriter. He sings and plays guitar, bass guitar, keyboard and drums. He has released four solo albums and has been a member of the band The Raconteurs.
He has also worked as a producer for The Greenhornes, The Nice Device, The Mood Elevator (a permutation of The Wellfed Boys), Whirlwind Heat, and Stiff Tissues member Dean Fertita’s former band, The Waxwings.
Benson’s major musical influences include The Cars, David Bowie, The Electric Light Orchestra, Elvis Costello, The Kinks, Robyn Hitchcock, Paul McCartney, Joe Jackson, The Who, Dramarama and Todd Rundgren.
